"Military Family Ministry "

Mission Statement:

The Military Families Ministry mission is to support our church’s active duty, National Guard and reserve military members and their families and to build positive relationships with military families in the Centre Region to create outreach opportunities.

Vision:

The MFM vision is to equip, support and transform military families by demonstrating the love and power of God to win them to Christ.  We embrace the principles of service, prayer, encouragement and practical involvement in the lives of those who defend our nation and their families who also serve by bearing the burdens of anxiety and deployment and separation.

Prayer:

Military Families Ministry is dedicated to prayer for service members and their families.  Please send prayer requests to prayerrequests@militaryfamiliesministry.com. Join our prayer team by visiting www.militaryfamiliesministry.com.

Adopt-a-Hero Program:

Families “adopt” a military family for a year.  Families are asked to pray for and correspond with their adopted military family.  Care packages and cards are encouraged.

Knitting/Crochet :

Donations accepted for prayer shawls, prayer patches, helmet liners, baby blankets and yarn.  Prayer patches are pocket-sized reminders of God’s love that are sent to military members and their families.    Prayer patches for military members should be made with camouflage colors (pink camouflage accepted too).  Helmet liners must be knitted with camouflage colors (browns and greens only) and made of wool.  Prayer shawls and baby blankets can be made in any color or pattern.   Drop boxes are located in the church lobby, Assembly of God in State College and The 329 Building at Innovation Park.  Visit www.militaryfamiliesministry.com for patterns and more information.

Card & Care Packages:

Special occasion cards, letters and care packages are sent to military members .

Letters to the Military:

Letters are a great morale booster.  MFM accepts letters from individuals, children and groups.  For more information please contact Paula Parker.
